On April 1, 2023, the Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise Oleksandr Ruvin gave a detailed interview with the Ukrainian National News Agency (UNN).
The interview was published on the anniversary of the liberation of the Kyiv region from the invaders of the russian federation. Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, answered questions about the consequences of the occupation of territories, which the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise began to investigate and record the destruction and damage for further forensic examinations, exactly one year ago, immediately after the liberation of the territories of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise was immediately involved in conducting forensic examinations not only of small arms but also of explosives, artillery shells, UAVs and various types of heavy weapons. During the war in eastern Ukraine, specialists of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise have considerable experience in this field, which, moreover, is supported by international recognition of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
Oleksandr Ruvin stressed that the experts of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise were able to inspect Borodyanka on April 1, 2022, and then there were Andriivka, Bucha, Hostomel, where Mriia and all other aircraft that were at the Hostomel airfield were examined for the first time.
