Representatives of the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine, students and cadets with their families visited Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Expertise. The excursion was organized within the framework of cooperation of the institutions.
Guests of KIF could plunge into the atmosphere of the times of origin of the domestic expertise; learn interesting moments from the history of its formation and development.
To the guests were demonstrated rare encyclopedic editions of the past and modern times which are stored in the funds and in the library of KIF. They also learned what literature the experts use when realizing their professional activities.
The researcher of the Department of the organization of research works of supplying of activity of Academic Council and publishing activity of KIF Olena Yudina told the audience about the collection «Criminalistics and Forensics». Since the beginning of its foundation and publication in 1964–1965 to the present, the pages of the collection have generated new ideas in the development of the forensic expertise, proposals for the creation of new expert methods of research.
Then the excursion in the museum of Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Expertise was devoted to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the institution. It has been told to the audience about historical stages of the Institute, its leaders and types of the expertise that the experts are carrying out now as well.
The information about the international cooperation of KIF raised particular interest of the guests as well as about foreign partners and common expert’s research concerning the crash of the aircraft of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH 17 and combating against cybercrime.
In general the guests got positive impressions and new knowledge about forensic activity of our country.
