Every year on January 23, the world celebrates Handwriting Day, which is founded to remind all of us of the uniqueness of manual writing, the need to practice it, and the uniqueness of each person’s handwriting.
The initiator of the Day was the Association of Manufacturers of Writing Accessories, which proclaimed January 23 as the date of the “handwritten” holiday.
Today, scientists talk about seven key characteristics of handwriting that can be used to create a portrait of a person. We are talking about: the size of the letters, the slope, shape, direction, the force of pressure on the writing tool, the nature of the spelling of words, and the overall assessment of handwriting.
Handwriting is an important tool used by the experts of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise when conducting research on handwriting and signatures, during which identification and diagnostic tasks are performed. What exactly is a forensic handwriting examination, more details can be found on the website of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
