The new U.S. sanctions lists include 554 items, and the U.S. Department of State has also adopted business recommendations “Risks and Considerations for Doing Business in the Russian Federation and the Russian-Occupied Territories of Ukraine,” which will be applied not only to Iran, the DPRK and Myanmar but also to Russia.
The sanctions lists include individuals associated with the abduction of Ukrainian children, companies from the energy sector, and sanctions on the production and supply of Shahed and Lancet UAVs and enemy missiles, machine tool manufacturing and supply companies, microelectronics suppliers, etc.
The sanctions lists include the M.L. Mil and M.I. Kamov National Center for Helicopter Construction, Arsenal Machine-Building Plant, Krasnoe Znamya, Iskra, Turbina, and the regular supplier SMT Logic. The lists include companies from China, Turkey, Serbia, India, Thailand, and Kazakhstan. The list of goods prohibited for export – components used in Russian UAVs – has also been expanded.
Thanks to the joint work of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, especially the Military Research Laboratory, whose experts examine and identify missiles, artillery weapons, drones and their components that “fly in” from the Russian Federation, the Institute has also helped to expand the sanctions lists.
As of February 2024, Russian weapons are replete with foreign components, including those manufactured by the end of 2023.
