On September 22, 2023, the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Museums and Restoration in the Context of Preserving Cultural Heritage: Actual Challenges of Our Time” was held at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve, in which Nataliia Kovtiukh, Head of the Department of Art History Research of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, took part.
The event was hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the Association of Restorers of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments, the National Academy of Cultural and Arts Management, and the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM).
The thematic areas of the conference were as follows: restoration and preservation of cultural heritage; museum management and protection of historical and cultural monuments; study, examination and attribution of works of art; collecting and gallery activities; public administration and public policy in the field of cultural heritage protection; training of professional staff in museum management, examination and restoration.
The event was held in the form of an active discussion, with participants showing interest in the speakers’ topics, asking questions to the speakers, discussing opportunities for further cooperation, and exchanging opinions and experiences.
