Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise took part in the International POLSECURE Conference in Poland

From April 25 to April 27, 2023, Nataliia Nestor, Deputy Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, took part in the International POLSECURE Conference.

The conference was organized by the Ministry of the Interior Affairs of Poland.

Among the invited guests were representatives of more than 100 foreign delegations. President of Poland Andrzej Duda sent a welcoming speech in honour of the opening of such a respectable event. Before the event, the conference participants, which numbered more than 500 people, honoured the memory of those killed in Ukraine because of Russian aggression with a moment of silence.

From Ukraine also participated in the event the Acting Head of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vyhivskyi.

During the conference, a number of panel discussions were held, including “Innovation and human capital development to combat cybercrime”, “International aspects of cybersecurity”, “Activities of border services in connection with migration pressure on the Polish-Belarusian border and Russian aggression”, “Reliability of victim identification – the role of the disaster victim identification team (DVI ) at the site of mass disasters”.  Nataliia Nestor, Deputy Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, took part as a speaker in the panel discussion “Reliability of victim identification – the role of the disaster victim identification team (DVI) at the site of mass disasters”.

The panel discussion on the topic “Reliability of victim identification – the role of the disaster victim identification team (DVI) at the site of mass disasters” focused on experts from around the world. The panel discussion was moderated by Agnieszka Łukomska from the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police in Poland. Also, participants of the panel discussion were representatives from Malta, Great Britain, Norway, Portugal, etc.

Nataliia Nestor shared her experience of how Ukrainian experts performed and continue to do their work during the aggression of the Russian Federation. After that, she thanked the Polish police and Polish citizens for supporting Ukraine and helping. The head of the National Police of Poland presented Nataliia Nestor with flowers and thanked them for their mutual assistance.

In general, the discussion of the participants of the international conference was very active and productive, as the invited participants are experienced and highly qualified specialists from around the world.
