Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise participated in the international specialized training “Document Fraud and Vehicle Trafficking” in Venice (Italy)

On September 7-8, 2023, Serhii Naumenko, Chief Forensic Expert of the Trace and Ballistics Department of the Criminalistics Laboratory of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise took part in the international specialized training “Document Fraud and Vehicle Trafficking” as a speaker. The international training was organized by the Association of Italian Law Enforcement Officers (ANVU) for the 6th year in a row, known as “Il Falsario” and this year the event was organized and held in Abano Terme, Venice (Italy).

The specialized training is important for law enforcement and border guard agencies, for forensic experts who want to improve their skills and knowledge in the field of document fraud and vehicle trafficking. Over the years, the specialized training has brought together a wide range of highly qualified experts from many European countries involved in the fight against fraud and criminal activity.

The international training has brought together experts from Italy, Moldova, Poland, Georgia, Germany and other European countries and has become a good platform for experts to demonstrate their skills and share their experience in the field of combating document fraud and vehicle trafficking.

Serhii Naumenko, Chief Forensic Expert of the Trace and Ballistics Department of the Criminalistics Laboratory of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, shared with foreign colleagues the experience of Ukrainian experts, in particular, the experts of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, in document examination. Serhii Naumenko made a presentation “Signs of Original Documents and Signs of Forged Documents Accompanying Technical Means”. The presentation covered a number of key aspects of technical research of documents and identification of their originality or forgery. Such experience is an important step in cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign experts in the field of document and vehicle research and will help to increase the efficiency of work in these areas.

The international nature of this training allows us to combine the best practices from different countries and adapt them to the needs of the participants. The effective exchange of information and methods helps to improve and enhance the work of specialists in the fight against fraud and criminal activity.

Such international initiatives facilitate joint work and the exchange of best practices, contributing to security and law enforcement in different countries.
