Developed by the Technical Committee 192 “Forensic Sciences” (hereinafter referred to as TC 192 “Forensic Sciences”) standards were adopted by the National Standards Body. The National Standards Body functions in Ukraine, according to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 26.11.2014 No. 1163 “On defining the state-owned enterprise to act as a National Standards Body” the functions of NSB are performed by the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Scientific Research and Training Center for Standardization, Certification and Quality Problems” (SE “UkrNDNC”).

The standard DSTU 9135: 2021 Forensic biological examination. Molecular genetic research. Terms and definitions set terms and definitions in the field of forensic molecular genetic examination. The standard is intended for use by employees of state specialized institutions that carry out forensic activities on the basis of the Law of Ukraine “On Forensic Expertise”, and other participants in criminal proceedings.
The standard DSTU 9122: 2021 Forensic handwriting examination. Terms and definitions normalize the Ukrainian terms and definitions in the field of forensic handwriting, which are used for forensic handwriting expertise. The standard is intended to be used in the work of entities that conduct forensic activities in the field of forensic justice, entities that carry out law enforcement and judicial activities, as well as to organize the educational process, and scientific activities. The terms established by this standard are recommended to be used in forensic handwriting expertise, methods of research of objects of forensic handwriting examination, in works on standardization, and in scientific, educational-methodical and journalistic literature.
The standards developed by TC 192 “Forensic Sciences” are harmonized with European and international regulations and will promote the development of forensic science and forensic science in Ukraine, taking into account European and world experience.
