On February 23, 2022, on the eve of the Russian invasion, a powerful cyberattack was carried out on the computer infrastructure on which the website of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise is located. The perpetrators of the cyberattack managed to gain access to critical nodes of the infrastructure, as a result of which part of the equipment was turned off to prevent further development of the attack.
Due to the active hostilities in Kyiv, the resumption of the site was forced to take a longer time than expected, but even under fire, the administrators of the computer infrastructure of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise faithfully performed their work.
As of March 6, 2022, the site was restored, additional measures were taken to combat illegal cyberattacks. According to the results of the study, the site was not compromised, there was no leakage of any data.
The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise sincerely thanks all those who, even under fire, were in danger of their own lives, did not leave their working month, and worked hard to restore the site.
