On August 18, a working meeting was held of the leadership of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise with the Director and representatives of the Center for Adaptation of the Civil Services to the standards of the European Union (TAIEX).
The parties discussed the topics, schedule and process of organizing the planned joint international events of the implementation of forensic expert activity.
The TAIEX technical assistance and information exchange tool is provided by the European Commission for the development of institutional capacity, bringing national legislation closer to the legislation of the European Union (acquis communautaire), its implementation and further effective use.
Expert mission, study visits and seminars are the main forms of TAIEX events. Experts from the countries of the European Union visit Ukraine for several days and provide in-depth consultations to Ukrainian colleagues on current issues, and domestic specialists study abroad on this program.
Oleksandr Ruvin, the Director of KFI noted that the active and fruitful cooperation of KFI and TAIEX, the promotion of the technical assistance tool in carrying out the international events initiated by the Institute, facilitates the exchange of information and international experience, harmonization of forensic standards and procedures.
The Center for Adaptation and the Civil Services to the standards of EU (TAIEX) emphasizes that the defining features of their activities are the focus on solving specific problems, the independence of determining their own needs, according to which the preparation and submission of applications and mobility is taking place, which allows using the tool to address urgent issues.
We would like to remind that last October, an international seminar on the topic “The experience in implementing ISO / IEC 17025: 2006 in European countries for the purpose of its introduction into the expert practice of judicial expert institutions of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine” was held at the initiative of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise and with the assistance and support of the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX).
