The Laboratory of Economic Research of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise held a round table on forensic activities under martial law and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine

On March 26, 2024, the Laboratory of Economic Research of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise held a round table on “Topical issues of forensic expert activity under martial law and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine” with the participation of teachers and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Economic Security and Customs of the State Tax University. The round table was moderated by Olga Lukova, Head of the Economic Research Laboratory.

The heads of the departments Oksana Markina and Igor Hrynenko emphasized that within the framework of the research work on the topic “Improvement of the methodology for confirming material damage (losses) of enterprises (organizations, institutions)”, a round table was organized to test the expert practice on confirming material damage (losses) of enterprises (organizations, institutions).

At the roundtable discussion, Senior Research Fellow Mykhailo Poliennikov revealed approaches to determining the damage and losses caused to Ukraine as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

Within the framework of the roundtable, Senior Research Fellow Maryna Rudaya in her report summarized the relevance of the topic and the total amount of documented direct damage caused to residential and commercial real estate, as well as other elements of infrastructure as a result of military actions initiated by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Also, forensic experts Yulia Matviyeva and Olena Denysenko focused on the issues raised by experts to confirm the amount of losses (lost profits) of enterprises due to the inability to conduct business as a result of armed aggression and the actual invasion of Russian troops.

Yulia Borshchevska and Olga Bogdanovych provided a comprehensive answer to the participants’ questions regarding the activities of forensic experts under martial law and the uniqueness of damage investigation for the world practice.
