February 20 commemorates the Heavenly Hundred Heroes Remembrance Day – people who rebelled against injustice in defence of the ideals of democracy, civil rights and freedoms, and the European future of Ukraine.
On this day in 2014, most of the Maidan activists died during the Revolution of Dignity, when the confrontation between the Ukrainian people and the then regime reached its peak.
The memorable date was established by the decree of the President of Ukraine on February 11, 2015, in order to perpetuate the great human, civil and national courage and dedication, fortitude and resilience of citizens, thanks to which the course of the history of our state was changed, worthy of honouring the feat of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.
On this day, we honour the memory of those heroes who changed the course of our country’s history during the events of the Revolution of Dignity, those who defended the ideals of democracy at the cost of their own lives, defended human rights and freedoms, and the European future of Ukraine.
The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise joins in honouring the memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes, people who laid down their lives for the future of our country because heroes do not die!
Glory to Ukraine!
