Yurii Irkhin, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Head of the Psychological Research Department of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, visited the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police in Warsaw. The visit took place within the framework of the CEPOL Exchange Program and lasted from 12 to 17 September 2021.
Polish colleagues of the Department of Psychological Research of the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Polish Police spoke in detail about the organization of the department, the features of conducting research using a polygraph and demonstrated the equipment.
In turn, Yurii Irkhin spoke about the methods of psychological research used in the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise. A feature of the work of Ukrainian forensic experts conducting the psychological examination is the use of domestic research methods, in contrast to Polish colleagues, who use the developments of the American Polygraph Association.
Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise continues to participate in the CEPOL Exchange Program; in the near future, a representative of the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police will visit the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
