The expert of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise passed the practical training Crime Scene Examination as part of the AFORE ENFSI project, Tallinn (Estonia) 

From September 26 to 29, 2022, Oleksii Komandyrov, Head of the Department of Research of Project Documentation and Cost of Construction Works of the Laboratory of Engineering and Technical Types of Research of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, attended the practical training “Crime Scene Examination” as part of the AFORE ENFSI project, which took place in Tallinn (Estonia).

ENFSI, the Estonian Forensic Science Institute and the Estonian Accreditation Center jointly organized training.

AFORE ENFSI (Accreditation of Forensic Laboratories in Europe) project aims to support forensic laboratories in the EU member states in the transition to accreditation or to expand the scope of accreditation. Part of the AFORE project is a work package called “Training of Technical Experts” aimed at improving the knowledge of experts regarding the ISO 17025 and ILAC standard G 19:06/2022 “Modules in Forensic Science Process”. The training on forensic comparison of facial images took place over 4 days and included participants from 16 European forensic institutions, including Portugal, Romania, Germany, Slovakia, France, Great Britain, Sweden, Switzerland and Italy.

At the end of the training, participants were awarded certificates of improving competence and acquired knowledge that meets the high requirements of EA (European Cooperation on Accreditation).
