On October 12, 2023, Anna Stromylo, the forensic expert of the Cherkasy Branch of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, participated in a seminar for teachers of a preschool educational institution on the topic: “Additional psychological assistance after the impact of a traumatic event”, where she made a presentation: “Post-traumatic stress disorder: causes, features, signs, manifestations. Additional psychological assistance after a traumatic event”.
The expert focused on the characteristics of trauma that can cause traumatic stress, the main conditions for the prevention of PTSD, aspects of working with children’s stress, anxiety and the provision of additional psychological assistance in extreme conditions.
The seminar was held in the form of a dialog, during which the participants discussed in detail the current issues of the features, signs, manifestations of post-traumatic stress disorder, and the provision of additional psychological assistance after a traumatic event. During the discussion, the participants showed considerable interest in the topic, asked questions to the speaker, discussed opportunities for further cooperation, and exchanged opinions.
Such events are important for developing knowledge about the peculiarities of emotional states and mechanisms of traumatic experience and help in overcoming these problems.
