On May 24, 2023, a scientific and practical seminar for heads of investigative units for investigating crimes in the field of transport, organized by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, began on the basis of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. The event will last for three days.
The seminar aims to consider topical issues of introducing the latest technologies in the study of material objects in criminal proceedings for road accidents. Participants will also be acquainted with the possibilities of technical expertise, the peculiarities of organizing and conducting inspection and seizure of material evidence and recording trace information in air and rail transport events.
The invited speaker from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise was Pavlo Borschevskyi, Deputy Head of the Engineering and Transport, Commodity Studies of Special Types of Research Laboratory. Pavlo Borshchevskyi conducted a lecture for heads of investigative units on the topic “Peculiarities of appointment, methods of conducting forensic examinations in criminal proceedings initiated on the facts of criminal offenses in the airspace”, where he focused on the peculiarities of the appointment and methods of conducting this type of forensic examinations.
The speakers of the scientific and practical seminar are also representatives of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the State Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Bureau of Investigation of Aviation Accidents and Incidents with Civil Aircraft, the Lviv Institute of Forensic Expertise, the Military Inspectorate of Road Safety West -territorial department of the military law enforcement service, Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, as well as the court.
