Mykhailo Sehai, born on March 31, 1923, was a prominent scientist in the field of criminalistics and jurisprudence. He held the Doctor of Law degree, was a professor and academician of the Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.
For more than 45 years, Mykhailo Yakovlevych worked at the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise. He rose from a junior to a senior researcher in the Criminalistics Department, and then headed this department. Subsequently, he was appointed Deputy Director for Research. In the period from 1979 to 1981, he acted as the Director of the Institute.
During his career, Mykhailo Yakovlevych published more than 180 scientific papers, including 6 monographs and 10 methodological manuals. Under his supervision, more than 20 dissertations for the candidate degree and two for doctor of law were defended.
He is an example for other scientists, combining high professional qualities and human values.
