On September 20, 2021, fourth-year students of the Institute of Law of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv visited the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise staff organized a tour for the guests and showed the library and museum.
Viktor Koloniuk, Scientific Secretary of the Institute, Candidate of the Juridical Sciences, acquainted students in detail with the information and reference fund, which is located in the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
According to Viktor Koloniuk, the information and reference fund of the Institute’s library began to take shape in the 1930s. It contains publications that have survived since the existence of the Cabinet of Scientific Forensics under the Prosecutor of the Kyiv Judicial Chamber.
The fund also contains all the necessary literature on forensics, which is used in research, expert research and forensic examinations.
In addition, the information and reference fund contains all issues of the professional, interdepartmental scientific and methodological collection “Criminalistics and Forensics”, which has been published for 57 years.
After being acquainted with the library, a Junior Researcher, Yuliia Foris conducted a tour of the museum for students, where an exclusive exposition of archival materials, tools used in forensic examination, as well as objects studied by the Institute’s staff was collected.
