On August 31, 2020 specialists of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise took part in a meeting of the disciplinary chamber of the Central Expert Qualification Commission of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as CEQC)initiated by Bezpalyi T., the lawyer of Kuzmenko Yu. Itraised the issue of the disciplinary responsibility of forensic experts of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, who carried out the forensic examination of criminal proceedings related to the death of Pavlo Sheremet.
According to the position of the experts from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, they did not go beyond their competence, conducted a full research, and provided a reasoned and objective written opinion. However, the CEQC decided to bring them to disciplinary responsibility based on certain comments.
The issue of appealing against the decision of the CEQC will be resolved after its receipt.
