From May 28 to 30, 2024, the international forum “SECURE ID FORUM 2024” was held in Riga, Latvia, with the participation of representatives of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise: Anton Polianskyi, Head of the Laboratory for the organization of scientific, methodological activities, regulatory support, international cooperation and training of experts; Viktoriia Kulikovska, Head of the Technical Document Examination Department of the Criminalistics Laboratory; Svitlana Lazorenko, Chief Forensic Expert of the Technical Document Examination Department of the Criminalistics Laboratory.
During the event, representatives from Latvia, Estonia, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Denmark, the UAE, Portugal, the USA, Austria and other countries discussed solutions for electronic identity documents that are the basis for and integrated into projects such as ePassport, national ID cards, financial smart cards and driving licenses, which are to be used worldwide; security and privacy of personal identification data created for cross-border personal identification with mutual recognition; resilience of digital infrastructure; advanced biometric fingerprint scanners and identity management software for law enforcement, military, national identification numbers, and a range of social services and commercial applications.
