Regular meetings of forensic examination sections were held

From April 25 to April 28, regular meetings of the forensic examination sections of the scientific advisory and methodological council on forensic examination at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine in the field of life safety and labour protection, forensic electrical examination, traceology and ballistic examinations, forensic engineering and transport examination, forensic biological and veterinary examination were held. Sessions were held via videoconference.

In the work of the section on forensic examination in the field of life safety and labour protection from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the representatives were:

  • Oleksandr Borys, Head of the Research on Life Safety, Fire and Electrical Engineering Research Department, Laboratory of Engineering and Technical Types of Research
  • Maria Iliina, Leading Forensic Expert of the Research on Life Safety, Fire and Electrical Engineering Research Department
  • Valentyn Kuchynskyi, Leading Forensic Expert of the Research on Life Safety, Fire and Electrical Engineering Research Department
  • Oleksandr Sadchenko, Head of the Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support and International Cooperation Laboratory, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise

The work of the section was held in accordance with the agenda, in particular, the results of research completed in 2022 and recommended for approbation, analysis and progress of research in accordance with the thematic plan for 2023, consideration of explanatory notes to research work for 2024 and other pressing issues of the section’s work were considered.

The section of forensic electrotechnical expertise from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine was represented by the following experts:

  • Oleksandr Lysenko, Deputy Head of the Research on Life Safety, Fire and Electrical Engineering Research Department, Laboratory of Engineering and Technical Types of Research
  • Victor Fonrabe, Leading Forensic Expert of the Cherkasy Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise
  • Oleksandr Sadchenko, Head of the Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support and International Cooperation Laboratory, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise

The participants of the section reviewed the explanatory notes to the research project planned for inclusion in the thematic plan of the research project of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for 2024; the results of research projects completed in 2022 reviewed reviews and recommended for approbation; analyzed the progress of research in accordance with the thematic plan for 2023.

The work of the section on traceological and ballistic expertise from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine was represented by:

  • Tymur Tsapko, Head of the Traseology, Ballistics, Explosive and Weapons Research Department
  • Ihor Samoilenko, Chief Forensic Expert of the Traseology, Ballistics, Explosive and Weapons Research Department of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise
  • Oleksandr Sadchenko, Head of the Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support and International Cooperation Laboratory, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise

During the meeting of the section, the participants considered the topics of research for inclusion in the thematic plan of the research project of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for 2024; discussed the progress of the implementation of the 2023 research project and reviewed the results of the research projects completed in 2022. The participants of the section considered all issues in accordance with the approved agenda.

The section on forensic engineering and transport expertise from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine was attended by:

  • Pavlo Borshchevskyi, Head of the Department of Auto-technical Types of Research of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise
  • Oleksandr Sadchenko, Head of the Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support and International Cooperation Laboratory, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise

During the workshop, the research topics planned for inclusion in the thematic plan of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for 2024, and the progress of the research project in the current year were considered. In addition, the participants of the section reviewed the results of approbation and implementation of research projects, according to plans for 2023.

In the work of the section on forensic biological and veterinary expertise from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the representatives were:

  • Oleksandr Borzov, Deputy Head of the Materials, Substances and Products Research Department, Deputy Head of the Section
  • Serhii Sichkar, Senior Researcher of the Materials, Substances and Products Research Department
  • Oleksandr Sadchenko, Head of the Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support and International Cooperation Laboratory, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise

The work of the section was held in accordance with the agenda, in particular, the results of research completed in 2022, the analysis and progress of research projects in accordance with the thematic plan for 2023, research topics for inclusion in the thematic plan of the research project of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for 2024 were considered.
