Participation of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise in the meeting of the working group of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) on Road Accident Analysis

Pavlo Borshchevskyi, the Head of the auto-technical studies department of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine participated in the Annual Meeting of the Road Accident Analysis Working Group of ENFSI.

Let’s remind that in May 2017, KFI became the first expert institution in the system of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which was included in the largest network of expert institutions in Europe. Now KFI experts systematically participate in meetings of thematic Working Groups.

During the Annual Meeting of the RAAWG, issues of information exchange on computer software and other equipment used for reconstruction of traffic accidents were discussed, and its best options are recommended.

The participants of the WG planned future cooperation in developing standards of competency (qualification) for both traffic police investigators and criminologists who are working on the reconstruction of traffic accidents; exchanged information on the results of ongoing research and useful scientific materials.

In addition, the agenda covered discussions on crash tests, exercises and tests to enhance competency and assist in the accreditation process. It was also about establishing links between experts who are involved in the reconstruction of road accidents.
