Andrii Poltavskyi, Assistant Director of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute for Forensic Expertise, became a participant of the International Congress “Forensic science and Forensic Expertology: Science, Training, Practice”.

The Congress of forensic scientists has been held for more than 20 years and serves as a communication platform for leading Ukrainian and foreign forensic scientists and forensic experts.

During the meeting, topical issues of modern forensic science and practice were considered, in particular, the participants’ reports were devoted to innovative methods in forensic expert didactics, the role and place of international organizations in the development of forensic science and forensic expertise, there were highlighted the need for international harmonization of scientific research in the field criminology and forensic expertology and search for new methods for improving the investigation of crimes as well.

One of the main theses of the International Congress this year was the need to create a common space in the field of forensic science and practice.

The Congress made it possible for representatives of various forensic schools to exchange views and experience, and to find qualified answers to problematic practical issues. Such scientific and practical measures allow implementing the latest developments of scientists in practical activities and combining the efforts of criminologists from different countries in improving the method of investigating crimes, thereby creating a single space forensic science. Thanks to such active cooperation, it is possible to find effective ways to solve emerging problems and train young scientists and professionals.
