On August 29, 2021, Oleksandr Ruvin took part in a special program “Right to Power” on the 1 + 1 TV channel, which was dedicated to the seventh anniversary of the tragedy near Ilovaisk.
According to Oleksandr Ruvin, the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise is directly related to establishing the facts about the causes of the Ilovaisk tragedy. Currently, the Institute is conducting the third examination in criminal proceedings, which examines the actions of the leadership of the state and the Military Forces of Ukraine in the respective years.
In addition, the Institute’s experts are conducting separate examinations of the actions of the management of Sector D, as well as research into the reasons that led to a significant reduction in Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
According to Oleksandr Ruvin, now the Institute is completing research on the Ilovaisk tragedy, and expert opinions may be published in the near future after the pre-trial investigation authorities give such consent.
