Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, took part in the solemn meeting on the occasion of the Day of Workers of the Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine

The professional day of workers of the Prosecutor’s Office was introduced by the Decree of the President of Ukraine in the year 2000 as a sign of respect and gratitude to their work, taking into account the role of the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office in strengthening the rule of law, protecting human rights and citizenship, as well as the contribution to the formation of Ukraine as a state of law.

On the occasion of the holiday, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine held a solemn meeting with the participation of the highest political leadership of the state. Oleksandr Ruvin, director of the Kiev Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise joined the greetings and became a participant of the event.

During the solemn meeting, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko noted that today’s successful changes in the Prosecutor’s office are part of the global reform of the entire law enforcement system. The Head of state noted that Ukraine managed to overcome in general the economic crisis caused by the war and economic aggression from Russia, to return to the path of development.

“The undeniable achievement of the reform is a significant renewal of the leadership and staff of the prosecutor’s office, which became possible through open and transparent contests. The prosecutor’s self-government allowed making the system of the prosecutor’s offices more independent. We have achieved good results, but the reform of the law enforcement system is still far from to be completed,” the Head of state remarked.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman congratulated on the professional holiday, and also wished the employees of the Prosecutor’s Office strength of spirit and determination in the struggle for a free, democratic, strong and independent legal Ukraine.

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko in his speech thanked for his fruitful work all the employees of the prosecutor’s office and for the support – personally to the President and Prime Minister of Ukraine. Yurii Lutsenko noted the importance of forensic expert activity in the speech:

“Expert institutions are perhaps the most intellectual part, without which the process of justice and legality could not be implemented,” the Prosecutor General of Ukraine emphasized.

Yurii Lutsenko also thanked the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police and all its units, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Defense, the State Guard Administration, the border guards and all the judiciary.
