Oleksandr Humenskyi, an expert of the Chernihiv Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, took part in the CEPOL Exchange Program

Oleksandr Humenskyi, Chief Forensic Expert of the Chernihiv Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, visited the Criminal Forensics Department of Police of the Republic of Armenia as part of the CEPOL Exchange Program.

During the visit, the expert visited the Dactyloscopy Department of the Criminal Forensics Department of Police, got acquainted with the work process. He also learned about the peculiarities of crime scene investigation and the crimes investigation process using fingerprints in the Republic of Armenia namely 

  • search for fingerprints at the crime scene;
  • search for found prints in the dactyloscopic database;
  • the work process with the selected trace and fingerprint.

Also during the visit, Oleksandr Humenskyi visited the Ballistics Unit of the Criminal Forensics Department of Police of the Republic of Armenia, where he got acquainted with the work process.

The organizer of the Exchange Program is the European Union Law Enforcement Training Agency (CEPOL). The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise became the first expert institution in the system of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine to join this Exchange Program. This year, within the framework of CEPOL-2021, the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise has already been visited by representatives of the State Non-Profit Organization “National Bureau of Expertises” of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
