Nataliia Nestor took part in the international conference “European Forensic Science Area 2.0… keeping the pace” in Prague (Czech Republic)

From 02 to 03 November 2022, the international conference “European Forensic Science Area 2.0… keeping the pace” was held in Prague (Czech Republic).

The Czech Institute of Forensics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs organized the conference.

At this year’s conference, the representative of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise was Nataliia Nestor, Deputy Director. Participants attended the conference from more than 60 European countries.

The event focused on the issue of continuing the implementation of EFSA 2020 (European Forensic Area), which was approved by the ENFSI Action Plan in previous years. Since forensics plays an increasingly crucial role in the fight against transnational crime, the conference was focused mainly on the Vision of the European Forensic Space as a basis for providing European law enforcement and criminal justice bodies.

The Vision for the creation of a European Forensic Area (EFSA 2020) has been a key initiative of ENFSI for many years and continues to play an important role in its implementation. This year’s conference was a confirmation that the raised issue of a unified forensic space remains relevant both for operational forensic experts working in forensic laboratories and for stakeholders of law enforcement agencies (police and judicial system) who rely on forensics in their work throughout Europe.

It should also be noted that the Czech Republic strongly supports Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor.

On November 03, 2022, the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament recognized the Russian regime as a terrorist in accordance with the resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

The Czech Republic also does not recognize the so-called “referendums” on the accession of four occupied regions in the east of Ukraine.

In general, this is the third country, after Poland and Estonia, which has adopted the relevant resolution.

Only together we will be able to overcome the terrorist state and achieve its punishment for terror!

Together we will win! Glory to Ukraine!
