On November 17, 2021, at the initiative of the State Research Expert Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, a round table “Current issues of forensic examination in the field of intellectual property” was held online, which was attended by more than 40 relevant experts.
Nataliia Klymova, a leading forensic expert of the Commodity Research and Object Research Department, joined the round table.
During the event, issues of both research in the field of intellectual property and forensic science, in general, were discussed.
Thus, the participants of the round table raised the issue of analysis of evidence submitted for examination for reliability, relevance and admissibility.
A topical issue discussed at the event was the study of trademarks, which are the names of medicines, and the problem of names of drugs that are similar to the degree of confusion.
In addition, the round table covered the topics of determining lost profits in cases of misuse of a trademark, analysis of the Association Agreement with the EU and harmonization of European and Ukrainian legislation in the field of intellectual property, comparison of trademark value with a value of goods, types of royalty rates and other issues.
