Memorial Day of Holodomor victims

In the 20th century, Ukraine experienced three Holodomors: 1921-1923, 1932-1933, and 1946-1947. Memorial Day of Holodomor victims falls annually in Ukraine on the fourth Saturday of November. On this day, Ukrainians remember the victims of the 20th-century Holodomor.

November 26, 2022, will already be the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933. This year’s information campaign is held under the slogan “We remember. We unite. We win”.

This year, the commemoration of the victims of the Stalinist regime will take place during russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Again, Russians are using genocidal practices against Ukrainians. After all, in this war, russia pursues the same goal as during the Holodomor – to destroy the Ukrainian identity and nation. Today’s tragic events clearly show us that the living memory of all victims is crucial.

On this sad day, the management and staff of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise will bow their heads low as a sign of grief and memory of the victims of the Holodomors. They will light a candle as a sign of mourning for the dead and victims.
