Larysa Oliinyk, the expert of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise conducted training for prosecutors

On September 7, 2021, the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine hosted a course “Participation of a prosecutor in criminal proceedings for offences committed by drug addicts”. The invited trainer for the course was Larysa Oliinyk, a senior forensic expert of the Materials, Substances and Products Research Department of the Institute.

The course was organized in two stages: first, the expert of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise made a report, followed by a session in the format of answers to questions.

In the report, the expert spoke about the forensic examination of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors, and also considered the peculiarities of asking questions in cases where such an examination is appointed.

While answering the questions, Larysa Oliinyk additionally spoke about the methods of examination of narcotic and psychotropic substances, interlaboratory testing, which are conducted in the Working Group on the study of psychoactive substances within the framework of the “EU-ACT” Project.

At the end of the training, Larysa Oliinyk presented the first and second editions of the textbook “Forensic Examinations in Procedural Law of Ukraine”, which was published by the staff of the Institute. The textbooks address issues of procedural regulation and features of forensic examinations.
