On August 04, 2023, an online round table “Open discussion of methods for interviewing (interrogating) children in contact with the law was held. Consideration of problematic issues of evaluating the results of the survey (examination, conclusions of psychologists, assessment by the court)”. The organizer was the Odesa Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. From the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, the participants were the following experts: Irkhin Yu. B., Head of the Department of the Psychological Research Laboratory, Tamakova T. A., Acting Head of the Psychological Research Laboratory, Bielavin S. P., forensic expert of the Psychological Research Laboratory, as well as judges, investigators, prosecutors and other interested parties, took part in the above-mentioned event.
Issues discussed at this round table:
- Standardization of the system of psychological support of the child during procedural actions;
- Methodological support of the process of obtaining legally significant information from the child;
- Legislative, scientific and expert requirements for assessing the process of questioning (interrogation) of a child;
- The path to the Register of Methods recommended by the Ministry of Justice: review approbation and implementation.
Holding such round tables contributes to the exchange of experience and increases the level of information content of participants in such events.
