The Automotive, Commodity and Special Types of Research Laboratory of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise received high results in the Interlaboratory Proficiency Test, which was conducted by the ENFSI Road Accident Analysis Expert Working Group. 

The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise was the only institution from Ukraine that took part in this testing and presented by Borshchevskyi Pavlo, the Head of the Laboratory.

The purpose of testing is to assess the ability of expert institutions to assess the speed of the car before the collision, based on information gathered because of the accident.

The testing took place in three stages, during which information on the accident was provided. The task of the participants was to adapt their assessment according to the new information. In addition, in addition to determining the speed, additional tasks were set at each stage.

According to the results of the Interlaboratory Proficiency Test, the Institute’s experts performed the tasks without errors, vehicle speed assessments were appropriate, and the capabilities of the laboratory of automotive, commodity and special types of research to investigate the causes and circumstances of accidents are at the appropriate level with leading expert institutions.
