On the basis of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, two practical events were held on April 15 and 17 this year on the following topics:
— “Review of topical issues to be resolved by expert economists” (15.04.2020), which was attended by specialists from the Laboratory of Economic Research and representatives of regional branches of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss problematic issues that arise during the appointment and conduct of an economic examination, in particular, the problems of establishing and confirming losses in various typical and atypical situations.
In addition, the seminar examined changes to the current Instruction on the designation and conduct of forensic examinations and expert studies, as well as the “Procedure for reviewing the opinions of forensic experts”, approved by order of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine dated 03.02.2020 No. 335/5;
— “Determining the cost of raw materials, equipment and consumer goods at the last date” (04.17.2020), which was attended by experts on commodity research of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic expertise and specialists in the relevant types of research from regional departments.
The agenda includes the issue of introducing amendments to the provisions of the legislation on forensic science activity in the current year; features of determining the cost of raw materials, equipment and consumer goods at the previous date; the limits of competence of the forensic expert conducting commodity research and other related issues.
The final part of the seminar was the question-and-answer time, during which the features of determining the cost of equipment using an expensive methodological approach, jewelry without providing research objects, seven cards of mobile operators, memory cards, laptops, clothes and other objects provided for research.
The speeches of the speakers were accompanied by a collective discussion of topical theses.
It was decided to take into account the results of the seminars and use in further practical activities.
