Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise continues to participate in the International Collaborative Exercises Program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime

On December 2, 2021, the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise received certified standard samples of the most common narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances provided by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to participate in the second round of the International Collaborative Exercises Program (ICE).

During research conducted under the ICE Program, the laboratories of participating organizations must identify the samples provided, report the purity or concentration of controlled drugs. The ultimate goal is to obtain accurate results in the identification of substances, which will confirm the high level of standards and research methods of laboratories that have joined the Program.

Participation of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise in the ICE Program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is a contribution of Ukrainian judicial expert institutions to the efforts of the international community in combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Through international collaboration, all participants gain new experiences and learn best practices in quality management in drug research laboratories.

The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise joined the International Collaborative Exercises Program (ICE) in 2020. According to the results of research conducted under the Program in 2020 and in May 2021, the experts of the Institute correctly identified all provided samples.
