Every year on December 15, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Court Employees. This holiday was introduced by the President of Ukraine, taking into account the leading role of the courts “in ensuring the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms, in establishing the rule of law and development, and strengthening Ukraine as a democratic state governed by the rule of law”.
The very date of the Day of Court Employees coincides with the establishment in 1917 of the General Court, the highest judicial body of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. This emphasizes the historical connection and rich heritage of the national judicial system.
