On December 26, 2023, the Scientific Research Center for Forensic Examination in the Field of Information Technology and Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine held the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Problems of Theory and Practice of Forensic Examination on Intellectual Property” (“Krainevski Readings”). Due to a significant increase in the number of examinations related to the investigation of crimes in cyberspace, both in the field of intellectual property and information technology, the main topic of this year’s conference was “Research of Digital Assets”.
The event was attended by Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of KFI, Anton Polianskyi, Head of the Laboratory of Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support, International Cooperation and Training of Experts of KFI, Viktor Davydchenko, Deputy Head of the Kropyvnytskyi Branch of KFI, Nataliia Kovaleva, Head of the Department of Commodity Research and Special Types of Research of the Laboratory of Engineering, Transport, Commodity and Special Types of Research, Olena Golikova, Deputy Head of the Department of Commodity Research and Special Types of Research of the Laboratory of Engineering, Transport, Commodity and Special Types of Research, and Nataliia Klymova, Chief Forensic Expert of the Department of Commodity Research and Special Types of Research of the Laboratory of Engineering, Transport, Commodity and Special Types of Research. Representatives of other research and forensic institutions also participated.
During the conference, the speakers made presentations on the theory, history and methodology of forensic examination on intellectual property issues; on the problems of reforming forensic activities in the field of intellectual property; on forensic examinations in the field of technical creativity (inventions, utility models, industrial designs); on forensic examination of commercial (brand) names and trademarks; on economic research and examination in the field of intellectual property; on examinations of computer programs, databases and telecommunication facilities (systems); on ways to develop and improve science and education in the field of intellectual property protection, etc.
