On October 27, 2023, Oleh Baulin, Head of the Department of Scientific and Regulatory Activities of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, took part in the round table “Criminal Procedure Law at the Present Stage of Development of Ukraine” dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Department of Criminal Procedure of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, where he delivered a scientific report on “Conceptual Issues of the Development of Criminal Procedure Law of Ukraine”.
In addition to the employees of the National Academy of Internal Affairs and veterans of the Department of Criminal Procedure, this scientific event, which was held in a mixed format at the National Academy of Internal Affairs, was attended by the Chairman of the High Anti-Corruption Court V. Mykhailenko, Judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court O. Kravchuk, Judge of the Criminal Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court O. Yanovska and other prominent figures in criminalistics.
The roundtable recalled historical events related to the establishment and development of the Department of Criminal Procedure at the National Academy of Internal Affairs, there were also discussed problems caused by the presence of fictions and conflicts in the modern criminal procedure law of Ukraine, the introduction of the institution of a whistleblower, the application of property seizure and preventive measures to military personnel under martial law, and other topical issues of criminal proceedings, for the solution of which relevant proposals were given by scientists.
