On June 07, 2024, the Fourth All-Ukrainian Forum of Forensic Experts, organized with the support of the Dnipro Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, was held in Lviv.
Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, delivered a welcoming speech in which he noted one of the most pressing problems – the reservation of forensic experts from military service.
The forum was attended by representatives of research institutes, including Oleh Baulin, Head of the Scientific and Regulatory and Methodological Activities Department of the Laboratory for the Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support, International Cooperation and Training of Experts of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, forensic experts, candidates of law, medical sciences, judges and government officials.
The event was held in several panel discussions, each of which touched upon the topic of preserving the scientific and human resources potential in forensic examination, given the conditions of martial law.
The participants discussed the development of forensic activities in the SES system, social security of forensic experts, preservation of the scientific and technical reserve, problems of forensic support of pre-trial investigation bodies, potential of linguistic expertise, and DNA technologies.
During the event, the products and services provided by Ukrainian companies for the forensic field were presented.
