On February 15, 2024, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “30 Years of the Law of Ukraine “On Forensic Expertise” was held by Odesa Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, delivered a welcoming speech in which he emphasized the importance of this Law. After all, this is one of the defining legal acts that has allowed us to build a modern national system of forensic support over three decades.
The conference was attended by representatives of forensic research institutions. Oleh Baulin, Head of the Department of Scientific and Regulatory Activities of the Laboratory of Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support, International Cooperation and Expert Training of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise delivered a report “Temporary Access to Things and Documents in Criminal Proceedings: Current Problems and Ways to Improve”.
Anton Polianskyi, Head of the Laboratory of Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support, International Cooperation and Expert Training of KFI, Yurii Maznychenko, Leading Researcher of the Department of Scientific and Regulatory Activities of the Laboratory of Organization of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support, International Cooperation and Expert Training of KFI, and Anton Kaminskyi, Junior Researcher of the Department of Regulatory Support of the Laboratory of Scientific, Methodological Activities, Regulatory Support, International Cooperation and Expert Training of KFI joined the discussion.
An important practical task of the event was not only to highlight problematic issues and exchange of experience in the field of forensic examination, but also to search for and develop new technological solutions and effective interagency tools for interaction between forensic institutions.
