On February 5, 2020, an extended meeting was held under the leadership of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, with the participation of heads of regional branches at the Khmelnytskyi Branch of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
The agenda included expert, scientific, methodological activities and the development of international cooperation. These were positive and negative trends, problematic issues and major goals for 2020 in the relevant areas of work.
In addition, the heads of laboratories and departments of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise reported on the situation at the places, discuss issues requiring special attention, and prospects for the development of professional activities.
The event participants noted that in 2019, experts from the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise performed more than 60 thousand forensic examinations and expert studies, participated in 80 scientific events, of which 45 are international.
The expansion of international cooperation is indicated, in particular, due to participation in the CEPOL Exchange Program 2019, TAIEX as well as work in the ENFSI.
During the meeting, attention was also paid to issues of changes in the legislation on the implementation of forensic activities, the state of office work, document management, archival work and work with personnel.
After the presentation of reports by the meeting participants, a constructive dialogue was carried out and key activities were identified for the implementation of the tasks and functions assigned to the Institute.
