On August 27, 2021, in the premises of the Zhytomyr Regional Prosecutor’s Office specialists of the Zhytomyr Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, led by Oleh Uminskyi, the Head of the Branch took part in a seminar “Forensic Examination in Criminal Proceedings in the Course of Priority Areas”.
The purpose of the event was to identify current issues that arise during the appointment, conduct forensic examinations, and discuss ways to address them.
The seminar was organized by the Zhytomyr Regional Prosecutor’s Office. The event was attended by the First Deputy Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Prosecutor’s Office, heads, their deputies, and prosecutors of district prosecutor’s offices responsible for the areas of work.
Zhytomyr Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine was presented by:
- Oleh Uminskyi, Head of the Branch;
- Mykhailo Pavliuk, Deputy Head of the Branch;
- Dmytro Mirutenko, Chief Forensic Expert;
- Pavlo Vozniuk, Iryna Kovalchuk, Halyna Chistiakova, Forensic Experts.
During the event, the issues of organization of appointment and conduct of forensic economic examination, forensic construction and technical examination, forensic ecological examination, and gemological examination as a new area of research were considered.
