On November 25, 2021, Yurii Irkhin, Head of the Psychological Research Department of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, Candidate of Psychological Science, Associate Professor, Forensic Expert of the Higher Qualification Class and Tetiana Tamakova, Senior Forensic Expert of the Psychological Research Department, took part in the scientific workshop “Pre-trial investigation on criminal offenses committed with the participation of children. Peculiarities of the procedure for appointing and conducting forensic psychological examinations in criminal proceedings committed with the participation of minors”. The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine organized the event.
During the workshop, among others, the following issues were considered:
- Subject types and features of psychological research of children in forensic psychological examination;
- Age features of psychological research of the child’s personality within the limits of forensic psychological examination.
Psychological examinations of minors, including those related to forensic examination, have certain limitations related to age, personality status and other features. That is why the discussion of such issues, and the exchange of experience, are extremely important for both forensic institutions and law enforcement agencies.
