Experts of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise took part in a meeting of the joint working group of Canadian Joint Task Force in Ukraine (Engineer Training Group for countering explosive threats)

On October 1-2, 2020, Serhii Lutsenko and Viktor Draliuk, experts of the Criminalistics Laboratory of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, took part in a meeting of the joint working group Ukraine and Canada on engineering support and countering explosive threats within the framework of Operation UNIFIER.

The meeting took place based on the joint training center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytska Oblast.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the effectiveness of joint interaction, the possible powers of the participants and the plan of activities for the near future. Among the main tasks is the creation of a glossary of explosive terms and definitions.

Particular attention is paid to the report of the experts of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise on the draft state standard “Forensic explosive examination. Terms and definitions”, which is currently being developed by the Technical Committee 192 “Forensic sciences”.

Specialists of the de-mining center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrated the organization of the search and disposal of an explosive device, as well as the seizure of objects for investigation and the remains of an explosive device after destruction, packaging and preparation of their transfer to investigators.
