On December 7-8, 2021, the 5th Global Conference on Criminal Finance and Cryptocurrency was held, a joint initiative of the Basel Institute on Governance, Interpol and Europol.
Organized this year by the Basel Institute through its International Center for Asset Recovery, it aims to bring together cryptocurrency experts, investigators and other law enforcement representatives from around the world.
The aim is to increase the capabilities of all relevant actors to successfully investigate and prosecute crimes in which virtual assets are involved, as well as manage related risks to companies and national/global financial systems.
Yevhen Tymko, Head of Head of the Department of Forensic Speech, Audio Analysis and Forensic Information Technology, Vladyslav Smirnov and Dmytro Samarin, Senior Forensic Experts represented the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise at this event.
