On February 28, 2020, Anatolii Poplavskyi, the head of the Khmelnytskyi Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise was the speaker of the All-Ukrainian Seminar on advocates training held at the Khmelnytskyi National University.
The event was attended by over 450 people, including lawyers of the city of Khmelnytskyi, employees of pre-trial investigation bodies, judges, teachers and students of legal specialties of higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
The topics of the speakers’ presentations covered the issues of standards of criminal procedural evidence standards in the practice of the European Court of Human Rights, the implementation of forensic activities in Ukraine and the disciplinary liability of a lawyer.
Anatolii Poplavskyi, specialist of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise presented the report on the following topic: “Forensic examinations and expert studies as a necessary aspect of the evidence base in criminal and civil cases”.
The trainees received information and presentation materials on the activities of the Khmelnytskyi Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, the procedure for appointing forensic examinations and expert studies, the procedure for executing and providing expert conclusions, and topical changes in the legislation governing forensic activities.
At the end of the presentation, the attendees had the opportunity to ask additional questions and exchange views on forensic issues that require special attention.
The scientific event will promote good communication in the field of law enforcement sphere, exchange of experience and increase the level of educational work, as an important professional component of forensic activity.
