On December 14, 2020, Viktor Fonrabe, a leading forensic expert of the Cherkasy Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, took part in the events of the Day of honoring the participants in the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident.
The events were held at the National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine with the participation of the university leadership, teachers and students, as well as invited representatives of the expert community and the public.
In his welcoming speech, the rector of the university Volodymyr Sadkovyi noted that saving a person in any emergency is a noble, responsible and difficult way, and the examples of heroism and dedication shown by rescuers in their duties are worthy of future generations.
In turn, the expert of the Cherkasy Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise Viktor Fonrabe, during his speech, focused on the significance of the feat of the liquidators, and spoke about the features of research to establish the source of fires and the causes of their occurrence.
It was also the traditional laying of flowers at the memorial sign to the victims of the Chernobyl disaster.
