As part of the program of technical assistance and information exchange instrument (TAIEX) of the European Commission, experts of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine visited the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) of the Republic of Finland.
The purpose of the visit was to study the problematic issues of computer and technical expertise related to the analysis of cybercrime and malware, the exchange of knowledge and practical experience of specialists on conducting computer technical research related to cybercrime, and studying the mechanisms of effective interaction of specialists in cases of malware research and analysis.
The experts of Kyiv Scientific research institute of Forensic Expertise made a presentation of the activities of the Ukrainian expert institution, familiarized themselves with the activities of the National Bureau of Investigation of Finland and established bilateral cooperation between the institutions.
Within the framework with foreign colleagues, experts of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise had the opportunity to get acquainted with:
- the activities of the National Bureau of Investigation, the state of cybercrime and the fight against it in Finland;
- research of cybercrime and conducting computer-technical expertise;
- the basic forensic procedures for collecting electronic evidence during the investigation of cybercrime
During the visit, Ukrainian forensic experts also visited the central office of the Cybercrime Forensic Laboratory, the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) and the forensic department of the Helsinki Police Department.
The final stage of the meeting was a visit to the exhibition gallery of fake paintings by famous world artists who were confiscated.
Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine will continue to establish cooperation with international colleagues, taking into account the best foreign experience and implement it in Ukrainian expert practice.
