As part of the implementation of international cooperation and exchange of experience with foreign colleagues, representatives of the Libyan Criminal Police visited Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
Foreign guests are students of the international training in the field of countering terrorist activities using explosives and explosive devices with the capabilities of modern forensic research in the traditional areas of forensic types of research, as well as in the field of forensic explosive engineering.
On the basis of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, the guests had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the process of conducting ballistic, trasology, explosive, military types of research, as well as research of firearms, ammunition and shot residues.
During the conversation, Viktor Kostetskyi, the Head of the Criminalistics Laboratory, noted that on the basis of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise in recent years, hundreds of complex examinations of cases cases of events that have gained wide resonance in society. These are, first of all, expert examinations in cases related to terrorism, mass death of people, public calls for violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order, corruption acts of former high-ranking officials, etc.
Foreign colleagues visited the Criminalistics Laboratory, talked with experts at workplaces, and also familiarized themselves with the history of the establishment and development of forensic examination in the museum of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
