On September 29, 2021, Olha Kandyral, a Leading Forensic Expert, and Denys Denisov, a Senior Forensic Expert of the Khmelnytskyi Branch of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, took part in a workshop for prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office. The topic of the event was a discussion of the methods of pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings in the field of the legality of the use of budget funds provided for the construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of roads, reimbursement to the budget.
Experts of the Khmelnytskyi Branch of the Institute made a report on the topic: “Features of complex construction, technical and economic examinations in criminal proceedings in the field of the legality of the use of budget funds for construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of roads, reimbursement to the budget”. During the event, experts focused on practical recommendations for the preparation and appointment of forensic examinations, voiced the most common mistakes that are made during the appointment of forensic examinations.
After the reports, the participants exchanged views and proposals on ways to address issues arising during the appointment and conduct of forensic examinations in criminal proceedings related to the use of budget funds for construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of roads, reimbursement to the budget.
