Specialists of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise conducted a field meeting of the forensic fire and technical examination section based on the Cherkasy Institute of Fire Safety named after Chornobyl Heroes
of National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine.
The event was attended by representatives of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, the Ukrainian Civil Protection Research Institute, the National Academy of Internal Affairs and the Office of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations in Cherkasy Oblast, the Cherkasy Institute of Fire Safety named after Chornobyl Heroes
of National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine.
Oleksandr Tyshchenko, acting for the Head of the Institute, opened the work of the section and congratulated the participants and expressed hope for the fruitful cooperation of specialists in matters of forensic fire and technical expertise.
Oleksandr Shmereho, the Head of the forensic fire and technical examination section drew the attention of participants to the need to develop fire-technical types of research and their relevance issues.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the results of the work of research institutions of forensic examinations on fire and technical types of research for the period of 2017-2018, reviewed the terms of reference for R & D, which are proposed for inclusion in the thematic plan of R & D of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for the year 2019, and also discussed the results of testing and implementation of research works, which were carried out in accordance with the plans and implementation of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for the year 2017.
Special attention was paid to the discussion of issues related to the organization of interaction between structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations and Research Institutions of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine during urgent investigative actions at fire scenes and training specialists in this field.
An interesting and informative event for the participants was the demonstration of the educational process of Cherkasy Institute of Fire Safety named after Chornobyl Heroes of National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine, namely, visiting modern classrooms, laboratories and the museum of the educational institution.
